The Arista Bee Research Foundation operates through a dedicated structure designed to ensure transparency, scientific excellence, and sustainable progress toward breeding Varroa-resistant honey bees.

Our work is made possible by a passionate and expanding group of volunteer beekeepers who participate in regional breeding programs.
Currently, over 200 breeders are active across Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and the USA — all contributing to the advancement of naturally Varroa-resistant honey bee populations.

🎓 Students and Research Collaboration

Students play an essential role in Arista’s cornerstone research projects, combining fundamental science and applied breeding methods.
Their contributions enhance the foundation’s capacity to optimize breeding efficiency, genetic selection, and data-driven beekeeping practices.
